Checking out Sun Mountain's waterproof Micro J outerwear
I have a lot of junk in my golf bag: a dozen ballmark repair tools, Band-Aids, cigar cutter and lighter, plenty of golf balls, extra Soft Spikes, bug spray, sunscreen, extra gloves, rain gloves, etc., etc. The Boy Scouts would be proud, because with all my gear, I am always prepared.
Well, almost always. I actually don’t have any room left over for rain gear.
Enter Sun Mountain, maker of golf bags and outerwear. This summer, Sun Mountain introduced a Micro J line of outerwear, featuring the “jacket in a jar.”
According to the company, this jacket would even fit in my over-stuffed golf bag:
“Micro J rolls up and fits into a plastic container not much bigger than a sleeve of golf balls. Yet, inside is a guaranteed waterproof, lightweight rain jacket that is ideal for play on warm, rainy days. Given the size and weight of Micro J, it is the ideal jacket to throw in a bag pocket and put into service as needed.”
I haven’t yet tried one out to see if it is as easy to roll back up after play and stick back in that jar, but it seems like it might be worth a try. Anything would be worth it as long as I don’t have to take my fly fishing gear out of my bag. I mean, you never know, do you?
The Micro J retails for $54.
