Live blogging the 2009 Solheim Cup 7: Europeans refuse to acknowledge win until Michelle Wie can produce a long-form birth certificate
Sunday August 23, 2009 | 16:54:55 164 words, 18740 views
This just in: The European Solheim Cup Team has just announced that they will not acknowledge the U.S. victory until a key player—unbeaten rookie from Hawai’i Michelle Wie—can produce a long-form birth certificate. Laura Davies was the first Euro to raise the issue. “Is Hawai’i even in the U.S.?” she asked. “I’ve been watching FOX News a bit—which we all know is fair and balanced—and they seem to believe that it is not.” Suzann Pettersen, a native of Norway, also raised the issue, when she noted, “In Norway, we used to etch birth records into the shells of hollowed eggs. Can Michelle Wie, if that is her real name, produce even an eggshell? Or a plate of lutefisk? God, I could use a nice plate of lutefisk right about now.” At this time, there is no response from the U.S. Team other than clearly audible derisive laughter and lots of terrorist-like knuckle-bumping. Stay tuned for further developments… Comments:
Have you and Wolfrum been hanging out again?

Naw--Wolfie would have remembered that it was in GERMANY where they used to etch the eggshells. (I was just trying to fit in one of the delicacies from the land of my forfathers...mmm...lutefisk...)
Since England is an island and Wie was born on an island, maybe Wie should play on the English side.

Seriously? Is Hawaii a U.S. state? What a slap to Hawaiians everywhere. For 50 years now we have enjoyed the company of Hawaiians and now there is a question there? What gives?
The question should be "Is laura Davies really John Daly in Disguise"
Wie carded two birdies and four bogeys. Her statistics for the week weren't impressive as she hit a modest 20 of 42 faiways, 41 of 54 greens in regulation, averaging 263 yards off the tee. Wie needed a whopping 97 putts where her numbers are normally 90 in a 54-hole tournament.
