Have you ever noticed the distinct inverse correlation between the age and expense of a golf ball and the likelihood of you losing it? There must be some sort of equation to represent this apparent law of golf, but I’ll let the more mathematically inclined figure it out.
All I know is that old, mud-stained balls with road-rash are nearly impossible to lose, while brand-new, top-shelf pearls disappear from my bag faster than beer from John Daly’s fridge.
Take, for example, the ball in the chompers of the imposing pit-bull in the photo below. That picture was taken moments after I struck a truly awful shot at Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall, Texas on Thanksgiving Day.
Despite the fact that I had just pulled that ball out of my bag, I decided not to try to retrieve it.
On the bright side, although the ball was new to me, it wasn’t exactly brand new. It was from KnetGolf.com. Knet specializes in reclaimed golf balls, selling them at amazing bargain-basement prices.
In other words, KnetGolf.com finds all those like-new balls you and I hit into woods, ponds, and fields. (I’m guessing they don’t bother with the ones they find wedged in the jaws of vicious killing machines.)
Some of the more amazing deals on KnetGolf.com at present are Nike One Platinums from $10.99/doz. and TaylorMade TP Red or Black from $7.99/doz. Sadly, a dozen of the Bridgestones like the one I lost are about the priciest on the site at $22.99/doz.
I wonder if KnetGolf.com sells any golf balls that squeak…

I hope this flea-bitten brute enjoyed his new toy.
