Whet your appetite for a new season with Saucy Mama
Well, here it is mid-February, and the tulips and daffodils in my garden are already poking up through the mulch. This cannot end well for the poor, misguided flora, as we’re sure to get at least one more prolonged hard freeze, and those tender shoots will be deader than a dandelion at Augusta National.
The inordinately warm weather is not only tempting my spring blooms toward certain death, it is also making me awfully antsy for the new golf season to start. My mouth is watering with visions of reachable par-5s.
I’m so stricken with spring fever, I can barely concentrate on my favorite winter hobby: cooking.
I love to cook mainly because I love to eat, but also because I love to try new things, and pretty much everything I cook is new; I rarely make the same thing the same way twice.
Fortunately for me, I recently received a box of goodies from Saucy Mama gourmet foods. Saucy Mama specializes in sauces and condiments that will turn the same-old same-old into something new and unexpectedly delicious.
On Super Bowl Sunday, I tossed a couple dozen chicken wings in Saucy Mama’s wing sauce. The sauce was so delicious, yet so hot, my eyes teared up and my cheeks flushed well before Madonna traumatized me with her bony visage at halftime.
Tonight, I’ll be grilling up a pork tenderloin marinated in Saucy Mama Cracked Pepper Marinade, and pairing it with a nice salad tossed with the Pacific Rim Dressing.
Saucy Mama’s forte is spicy flavors, and even the Pacific Rim Dressing and the Santa Fe Creamy Chipotle will set your lips a-tingle. The best way to dress up a mundane ham and cheese sandwich and wake yourself up at lunch time is with the Saucy Mama Chipotle Mustard.
Of course the more I cook (and eat), the harder I’ll need to work to get back into playing shape come spring. But hey, unlike my stupid flowers, I know we’ve got a solid month before then.
Pass another dozen hot wings…
