As a Brit I think that the wailing and knashing of teeth is being overdone by the US press. Personally I think that the contest will be alot closer than most are giving the US Team credit for. Obviously I hope and expect the Euro's to win but I do seriously believe that the US Team are a closer bonded bunch than 2 years ago and however nad they may have played recently you do have the top 3 golfers in the world. Anyway here hoping for a good contest played in the spirit that golf should be played.

From a european perspective, I am looking forward to the ryder cup this weekend - though the weather doesn't look too kind - all those old tropical storms/hurricanes from your side of the atlantic are heading this way :(

Now, on to who's gonna win! Of course I'd like it to be the Europeans (euros by the way is a widely used currency over here)

But to be honest I don't really care who wins - I just hope it's world class golf that we all get th plesure of watching.

Having said that - if I was a betting man - I'd put money on the USA team winning this time around, Monty is putting like a 25 handicapper, and the choice of Westwood as wild card wasn't the best. And poor old Darren Clarke? He's hurting so much over the loss of his wife I can't see how he's going to give the game 100% focus

Whatever happens, its just a game - enjoy it - I certainly will :)

Yup. And what's Tiger's record in past Ryder Cups, including those in which he's had great seasons? Little corellation.

Tiger won 5 in a row--and then got one bad round out of his system before the Ryder Cup. Hard to imagine a better scenario there. If so many US players did badly last week it sounds to me like they are taking the Ryder Cup seriously and were thinking ahead. Bad news for last week but it could very well be good news for the Cup.
