I would like to address an issue that is far larger than Michelle Wie ....although much less pleasant to think about. That is...this name changing stuff the Koreans are pulling. First we have Birdie..what's next Eagle Jong and Double Eagle Jang? Never Miss a Putt Kim???
Does Paula counter with AAA None Better Creamer? Where does it end? People will start using animal names..like Tiger.

OK. For all of you out there who are either unable or unwilling to read, this blog was intended as SUPPORT for Wie and an example of how comparisons between golfers--any golfers, especially Wie and Tiger--are silly. One thing Baldwin got right in his comment above is that it appears that many people--most shockingly those who feel compelled to comment publicly on blogs--are either too dense or too lazy to understand anything other than the bleedingly obvious. Sigh...

Its very unfortunate to see middle aged men bashing 15 year olds on their golf game. What is this world turning into? Whats next, Bush being reelected again for presidency ?

Actually Chris and Kiel are both wrong. Who cares about what happens in a tournament run by the froggies or the limeys? Only a good old All-American tournament counts, and for that matter, the only one that counts is the biggest and richest of them all, the US Open.

It is not Paula Creamer who is better than Michelle Wie now and forever. It is not Jeong Jang. It is Birdie Kim who is better than Michelle Wie now, and who will always be better than Michelle Wie. Indeed, Birdie Kim is so great she knew better than to perform well in some stupid froggy or limey tournament--which is something else that Michelle Wie needs to learn.

A lot of people are calling Michelle Wie a loser. This is true--but most people fail to truly understand what it means to be a loser. Sportsmanship is for losers. Being a loser has very little to do with losing--it is simply another term for being a good sport.

If anyone watched the US Open you may have seen the most extreme act of goodsportsmanship ever seen in this country. When Birdie Kim sank her miracle chip to win the Open, Michelle Wie's good friend and fellow American amateur Morgan Pressel was denied a victory in the biggest tournament in women's golf. Can you even begin to imagine how much it must have hurt Michelle to see her good friend Morgan denied that prize.

But did Michelle express anger or hurt or any other negative emotion. No she did not. Hiding her sadness for her good friend Morgan Pressel, she reached out in joy towards Birdie Kim, congratulating the Birdie Kim with a sincerity rarely seen in anyone--and certainly never in a winner.
