Belaggio, Flamingo and Aladdin laughing at you, golf travelers

Man, can you trust anyone in Las Vegas!? I wish I could say I was shocked at reading Tim McDonald’s account of how some of the “leading” Las Vegas resorts continue to shill for courses in lousy condition. When I travel - even to Sin City - I expect the staff at my hotel to help me. Too much to ask? Don’t steer me to an over-priced track that looks like a final exam for grad students at Greenskeeper University. And while you’re at it, don’t steer me to
Bradley Ogden either. Who’s paying your salary anyway!? Me, the customer, right?

I don’t mind blowing my money at your tables and slots, but don’t make choosing a golf course or place to eat a suckers’ game too.

Having gone to Las Vegas not too long ago, I can say that the best place to stay and golf is at Lake Las Vegas. There is a Ritz Carlton and Hyatt Regency (which is nicely decorated in a Morrocan theme). There is an absolutely spectcalur Nicklaus course called "Reflection Bay" which is mostly lakeside, and a Weiskopf course called the "Falls" that plays in and around the desert (which wasn't open when I was there).

All the resorts, courses, restaurants, and shopping are connected by tram, boat taxi, bike, or walking, and there is plenty to do for all the family. After staying here, I would never stay on the strip again. Oh yeah, there are 3 casinos too, but with the $180 price tag for Reflection Bay, you are better off just golfing. If you want to hit the strip for a night out, there are shuttles and it is about a 20 minute ride.
