Caribbean crime: Here's another nod to the good folks down there
Thursday June 2, 2005 | 05:57:20 139 words, 3311 views
Reading the blogs by Brandon and Tim, I remembered a long-ago trip down island. My dad and I did the hop from Florida through the Bahamas on our way to Cub…….. err, uhh, to some other island down there, one where you can see a lot of cars from the ’50s. At any rate, my pop left his camera in the backseat of a Bahamian cab. Bummed, we backtracked to the airport in what I reckoned was a ridiculously futile mission. Lo and behold, we asked the guy at the taxi stand. He lit up, smiled, said, “Wait right here, mon!” and ran off. A couple minutes later, he came back with a cabbie who was smiling and holding my dad’s camera. We were VERY happy to get back our pics of …. ummm ……. that OTHER nearby island we’d visited.

Ok, ok. . .now that we're all off the caribbean-bashing bandwagon. . .if it's any consolation, the pot I was offered was at a really good price.
