Back on May 10, in the wake of Sergio Garcia’s meltdown in the Wachovia Championship, Chris Baldwin wrote: “It’s easy to root for Sergio. Harder and harder to believe in him. … It’s about time to drop that Sergio’s-still-young rationale/excuse as well. The once fresh-faced kid’s 25 now and he’s been playing golf since he was three. At a certain point, the mental makeup of your game and the path of your career is set in motion. And Garcia’s on a headfirst track to being an all-time disappointment.”

In light of Sergio’s showing at the Booz Allen Classic, perhaps we can now drop the “Sergio’s-still-young rationale/excuse.” Nice going, Sergio. About time.
