Pot calling Tiger Woods classless

Over on the Rebel’s blog about Tiger Woods leaving Baltusrol before the PGA Championship ended, I see where some dimwit calling himself the “Happy Hippy Hacker” comments: “Tiger Woods (is) … the most arrogant, classless, and inconsiderate a**hole to ever play the game. He makes a horrible role model for todays’ youth with his uncontrollable and incessant cursing, spitting and other childish antics. … He does not represent the ‘gentlemen’s game’ well at all.”

Does anyone else see the irony in this Hippy bonehead chucking out an expletive to deride Tiger for Tiger’s alleged on-course profanity? What a class act this Happy Hippy Hacker is. Tiger should take note, eh?

My hat’s off to the hatted one for at least having the decency to edit out that “a-hole” bomb. Hey, there are women and kids around here!

Green with jealousy! He had every right to leave when he was not even close, 3 under par could have been different. If it could have been another player no one will say anything.
Ask the players, the cursing, spitting and so on, are pretty standard, accept the cameras were not on them all the time.
Talking about role model?
Who would share his wealth with his parents and even announced it the day when he won his first major, the kid has love and respect for his parents as well as gratitude! Children of today should apt him on that. The petty matters you had mentioned were nothing but your expression of jealousy deep in you. You should introspect yourself before you shout out so loud kiddo.
Bye for now!

I for one, want to have a human being, with all of their foibles as my hero, not the robot this "3H" garbage brain seems to expect.
If there had been the kind of monitors on Nickalaus and Palmer that exist today, I am sure they would have shocked a few people now and then, especially given the added sensitivity to cussing in public they had in those days.
There are many comments about the changes in equipment today and their incompatibility with records of the past, and must include the facts about having sound pickup devices so sensitive it is like having a microphone around the necks of the golfers today, and camaras that are able to focus in on a facial zit from a hovering balloon.
Idiots like "3H", will always relish the "zit" over the actual metal of a person.

Those who say that Tiger is classless by leaving before the end of the regular holes simply do NOT really understand what is respect and are simply jealous.

For respect of the players like Phil Mickelson, Tiger knew that he had no chance to win or to get to the playoff and he is 200% right, so he better left and go home to take of his wife and parents than sticking around losing time to wait for something which would never happen.

You don't have to like Tiger Woods but you have to respect him. Not only is he an amazing winner, unlike other "superstars" in other sports, he respects the tradition of golf by knowing who his elders are ... unlike the dimwit superstar players who ask Frank Robinson if he ever played or Barry Bonds disrepecting babe Ruth ... Woods cherishes and respects elders like Nicklaus, B. Nelson, etc and appreciates courses like St. Andrews. You don't have to be a fan of Woods but you have to respect him as a champion. Golf could not ask for a better 21st century ambassador ... unless of course, your hate is really because he's not white but then you have bigger problems.

As for leaving - he's in a no win situation. You rail against him for leaving but he was totally honest (another trait of his - he says it straight and you'll notice he never balmes anyone else but himself for putting, driving or chipping poorly) - by leaving he said 'those guys are not coming back' and in essence I'm not going to sit around in a clubhouse watching three holes and wishing ill on my fellow players. He's just not that kind of competitor. I did my best and now, good luck to the rest of you. By leaving, he was respecting them.

I am glad to hear other people lash out at Tiger. He is always receiving special treatment from tournament organizers, i.e. At the Doral Ford Championship, he asked that a rope be put up for him from the locker room to the putting green so he would not have to stop and sign autographs. The other players had no problem walking amongst the fans. Also, how come no media outlet reported that during Ryder Cup week last year that Tiger skipped a day of team practices to play golf with Michael Jordan and Lawrence Taylor and Ahmad Rashad? The media sure let Phil Mickelson have it for skipping the day to rest. Why can't Peter Kostis interview Tiger anymore? Did Peter criticize some part of his swing?

There is two Tiger Woods . The one he lets you see on the t.v .....All smiling , playing the gent and saying all the right (all beit contrived) things and the real one off it .
At our Open (british) this year a respected radio interviewer asked him how his practise went as he finished his practised round (off camera ) . He not only did not even look at the man he completeley ignored him and behaved as if he wasnt there . He was asked again two more times before the interviewer gave up . It was total and utter arrogance and that is the real Tiger (whats his real name anyway for heavans sake ) . As for the P.G.A i cant believe how naive some people are . He left not out of respect but pureley out of his ego being bruised when he knew the game was up . Has anyone not noticed that when he finishes an all smiling interview that same smile disappears instantly as soon as the interview ends as he walks past the men who pay his wages . A bloodly good golfer but sadly completely arrogant with it who will be a loneley man when he gets old .

I am sorry Ivory! I was just p...off when people just "nitpick". I love Tiger, but there are times when I wish he dosen't make the cut because he is playing like a fool, for instance, using that Nike driver. Nevertheless, I think he is a good lad. Once again I sorry for being such an a..hole....smile....

Martell, don't get PO'd!! You're intelligent enough to know to dismount a dead horse...while others continue to beat it (thus the nit-picking), hoping that horse will arise and carry them into the sunset. They just don't get it!!!

Martell and Ivory...interesting that you chose one of our classy hero's favorite expressions..."pissed off."(so sorry,PO'd) That particular gem of a description recently rolled off of his golden tongue in a post tournament victory as fluidly as the unctuous phony that he is. Yes sir, the guy is a real class act.

Mark Nessmith...pardon me, I do hope that you will forgive me but, unlike YOU, genius, I AM a bit dimwitted, so, would it be safe to assume that you do not agree with me that Tiger Woods is the biggest A**HOLE to ever play the game? So sorry, I forgot how fragile and sensitive you TW fans are. Guess I just got pissed off.

To Mark the Moron...yes, you are a MORON...if you had done your homework, you would have known that it was I, Ben Hog-end who authored the original piece that you were referring to. You know, the one that called Woods the A**HOLE that he is! If you had looked carefully, instead of shooting from the hip, as you tend to do, you would have seen that Happy Hacking Hooker (or whatever his name is) pasted my words in and at the bottom credited me as the source. And I will say this for him, at least he had the decency to footnote me. He was even gracious enough to continue the defense in my behalf. And unlike you and Woody, the guy's got class!

Hey, Shanks...I NEVER claimed that I had any...but I certainly DO recognize "class" in OTHERS when I see it...and I stand by what I orinally stated, that is, Woods has NONE!

About Tiger Wood:
Are you making an implication that one has to be white to have class and be a gentleman? If that is the citeria Martell,I AM POSTIVE THAT YOU ARE NOT WHITE.

Mable...your convoluted logic amuses me...but just for the record, similarly to Woods, I'm neither black nor white, but somewhere safe in between...and I'll bet that you're GREEN with envy!

He had every right to leave! You call him an inconsiderate a**hole and that say he has no class. The difference is the guy has made millions at what he's doing and he is the best at it!

A good golfer..I don't take that away
from him...but....did you see the time
he was crossing a narrow bridge and
pushed a young boy out of the way?..
do you notice how the cry baby acts
when he (supposedly) gets something in
his eye?.. the time he missed a putt.
his first bogey of the round, spat a
huge one right on the green. no one
who calls himself a golfing gentlman would do that to his fellow golfers..
Grow up Tiger!!!

Judging from you guys reactions to Tiger Woods, you must be ready to ban from the PGA Tour for life men such as John Daly, Frank Lickliter, and Rory Sabbatini. It's amazing how easily leaving a tournament early that he have no chance of winning, occasional use of profanity, and spitting completely overshadows his popularity with true golf fans (young and experienced), the corporate world, and most of all his professional peers. Funny, you never hear any of them, present players or the legends of the game, calling him an a**hole, classless, or a cry baby. Are they stupid, unaware, or afraid? No, they are just people who recognize greatness and humanity...regardless of the person's ethnicity (yeah, that's part of the motivation). They are simply people who have class, therefore they recognize it in him. You gentlemen need to grow up and get over it!!

Ivory, I admire Tiger's play very much but I think his occasional transgressions need some policing. You probably don't know this, but Tiger is the most-fined player on Tour, by a wide margin. Tiger benefits from the same old system that top athletes always have ... as long as he's on top of the world playing-ability-wise, sponsors and players let that stuff slide. If he were 100th in the world, they would treat him they way they do to Sabbatini & Lickliter - with disdain. The Tour doesn't publicize it's fines because they feel it would give their own image a black eye. It's a shame because if they did (like the Euro Tour does) it would cut down on some of that stuff. Who wants to be publicly embarrassed like that?

Time to educate Ivory again...Woods should not have left the PGA or any other Major where players typically come back to the field. It shows a lack aof respect for the event and other players. It presumes foresigth no one has.
He (or anyone else) doesn't "know" what will happen the last several holes of any event. What John Daly or anyone else did is irrelevant. We are discussing Woods and what was both sensible and professional. Mixing this issue with profanities or other things players may or may not have said misses the mark.

everyone should remember that these united states of america is a simi-apartheid state. Tiger is and will forever be the greatest golfer, period. He is also an African man living in an semi-apartheid usa.

Wrong. Tiger is an American man of African, Asian, Caucasian & Indian descent. Take your politics elsewhere.

Yea, Tiger is a class act. Did you see him sign the glove and give it to the fella he hit on 18 on Saturday? He is the best thing yhat ever happened to golf, and I've watched it for years.

Anyone that has anything bad to say about Tiger is just flat wrong. No out bursts, bad quotes or poor behavior off the course. I'll say it again, he is the best thing that has ever happened to golf.

I was a Jack fan, and now I'm a Tiger fan. I used to hope that Tiger would not break Jack's major record of 18, now I hope he does.

Get on board and watch history unfold.

It will be fun.
