Pigs fly now! Golf insiders agreeing with No. 1 Michelle Wie skeptic

Chris Baldwin just wrote a fine piece for the weekly WorldGolf.com newsletter bemoaning how too many golf courses are starting to charge higher “weekend” rates for Fridays and even Thursdays. He makes a strong point about how this pricing scam is a good example of the golf industry shooting itself in the foot. “Anyone who gets away to play a round of golf on a weekday - and Thursday and Fridays are still weekdays - should be rewarded, not punished by the golf industry,” Baldwin writes.

And you know what? …. Gasp! ….. Folks are agreeing with Chris. This is the same Chris Baldwin who takes potshots at a 16-year-old Michelle Wie any chance he gets. This is the same Chris Baldwin who belittled one of the great feel-good stories in golf in 2005 (the Champions Tour victory by former beer truck driver Mark Johnson). This is the same same Chris Baldwin who had to gaul to compare golf instructors to snake-oil salesmen or chiropractors. Buy the man a hanky, I think he’s going soft on us.

There is an international conspiracy of intrigue underlying the connection between wie, johnson, and instructors. Somehow, Baldwin will nail it. I have such reverence for the man.

RE: Weekendddsss (see, even the word is getting longer!) He is spot on, as the Italians say. Just one more way for the man to stick it to the people. Thanks for the expose, Shallow Throat.
