Reading this story about Olympic downhill stumbler, err, skier Bode Miller, I started thinking what a perfect golf/drinking buddy he’d be for John Daly. Then again, maybe Miller would be better off killing brain cells (or climbing the Himalayas) with Miami Dolphins runningback Ricky ‘Larry Darrell’ Williams. Long John, after all, has in fact risen to the pinnacle of his sport (twice) ranking him with Mickey Mantle, quite high on the list of accomplished talent wasters. Lost in all the talk of Tiger’s two Ws so far this year, and the exciting wins from Chad Campbell, J.B. Holmes and Arron Oberholser is that fact that guys are going to spend the next several months on the PGA Tour fighting hard to win a spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
