Global warming good for the golf industry? (Not if you sell Sun Belt golf vacations)
Saturday January 6, 2007 | 17:41:15 139 words, 24482 views
Bogey Lounge writes about how balmy winter days have become the norm in the Northeast and other areas that are usually snow covered by now. “The only bad thing about this is that clowns like me who normally play all winter in 6 layers of clothes are finding hard to get weekend tee-times because all of a sudden everyone is a winter golfer,” BL writes. “Half the dudes out there this weekend (expected high 60’s) would have normally by now put their clubs into hibernation, instead they are beating me to the good tee-times. “Oh well, it’s good for golf or at least for the golf industry.” Maybe so, Bogey Lounge, but in January, I’d still rather golf in Las Vegas or Myrtle Beach or Florida. PS: Got a golf or sports blog I should be reading? Let me know. Comments:

Yeah, we're a rare breed. The grass is a moldy yellow, yet it looks like emerald blades to us northeners. We are simply grateful for the opportunity to play...when you go to LV, FLA, or MB, you expect to play. Therein lies the difference.

You should try playing in the winter in Thailand. tempertaure never drops below 60, although I wish it would and it hardly rains from Novemebt through February. This is qitedifferent from the USA.

Any time the temperature rises above 45 degrees, I'm out on the golf course (or at least on the range).
Barry keeps going until the first snowfall, regardless of the frostbite!

I'm a big baby and don't like playing in cold weather but if I was forced to live in a cold climate I probably would!
