Whisky and golf in Scotland: A perfect pair

I get tons of press releases. I mean, if I had a nickle for every press release I got, I’d be able to take a year off and just travel around playing golf at PGA Tour host courses. So I have no idea why this one from Visit Scotland caught my eye. It’s entitled “Whisky Month May 2009.”

Checking it out, I see where “the month of May is Scotland’s Whisky Month and sees our two biggest whisky festivals come alive as several of Speyside’s beautiful towns welcome The Spirit of Speyside Festival and Inveraray Castle opens its doors for The Spirit of the West Festival.”

Looking over the release A) has me looking at my watch and reckoning it’s 5:00 somewhere, and B) thinking about a trip combining the best of whisky and golf in Scotland.

For more, check out “Scotland’s Whisky Trail: Root of the barley in the home of golf” at ScotlandGolf.com, and “Speyside Golf Whisky Trail is one of a kind” at GolfEurope.com.

(BTW, whether you’re a whisky drinker or not, you can find some outstanding Scotland golf vacation packages here.)

This is really funny. Any golfer that’s ever had a bad day on the green should know about it. : )

You've got to see the angle on this amazing shot that Briny Baird hit. This is incredible and fun to see this kind of thing, plus its very cool that he raised all this money for the military families. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaTWJCPAogg

My two favorites! Scotch and golf! I'm more partial the the highlands stuff personally. But how I would love to go. Sigh.... Maybe next year.
