Win a free golf book!

A release just hit my desk announcing nominees for this year’s Golf Tourism Scotland’s Gold Standard Awards. The nominees for Golf Course of the Year are:

Ailsa Course at Turnberry

Balcomie Links (Crail)

Castle Stuart Golf Links (Inverness)

Duke’s Course (St Andrews)

Kingsbarns Golf Links

Muirfield

North Berwick West Links

Prestwick

Torrance Course (St Andrews)

So what say ye, guys? Got a pick? If you were planning a golf trip to Scotland, any of these on your absolute must-play list?

BTW, winners will be announced in November at Turnberry Resort.

If you haven't played Kingsbarns you have not lived. What it lacks in history and the fact it is not a true links, it makes up for in spades in beauty and playability. It truly is magnificent. I played it along with the Jubilee at St Andrews, The Old Course, Carnoustie, Old Prestwick, Royal Troon and Wester Gailes. They were all equally fantastic but Kinsbarns is by far the most beautiful course I've ever seen. Puts little Pebble Beach to shame.
