I get your point but think that your choice of comparison is off, by my standards. Anna was ranked #1 in the world in doubles at one point in her career, and I believe she was also ranked in the top 10 in singles. We are talking......in the world here. Certainly, you realize how many girls dream of having the talent and success, on the court, that Anna had. I should remind you that as a amateur Anna was considered one of the next great players, like Michelle. I guess since she didn't win a major tennis event in singles then she had no talent. Kind of like Dan Marino in football, who also sold some calendars. It seems at this point that Wie will be the next dominant player. That is based primarily on her power. Who knows? Maybe she nevers becomes that dominant. It remains to be seen. I think she probably will. That said, I do not think Michelle could ever sell calenders like Anna can. So maybe Michelle should consider turning pro sooner than later to capitalize on her relative success.

Kournikova was unlucky not to win a WTA event early on in her career. She was a great talent. I remember she was the first player ever to beat 4 top ten players in a row in a single tournament. Actually she must be one out of a select few players that reached top 10 without winning a tournament. To do that you need great consistency. She just lacked luck in the beginning and then later on she lacked confidence when it came to the deciding matches.

Kournikova is the like the hitter who was hot for a while that the league gradually figured out. She was successful early on. Her skills were fine. Then, gradually players figured out how to play her and strategize against her. Like the hitter who started out hot, the league figured her out.

I don't see that happening with Wie.

Remember that Michelle is still a kid, and nobody is ready to market her as a babe. But make no mistakes, she will be a total babe when she's older and mark my words, she's going to be the marketing flavour of the month for a long, long time. Anna is sexy, but mostly to white North American guys. Michelle has global appeal, and if you take the average guy - as opposed to the average American guy (no offense intended), I'll bet most would say that Michelle is better looking.

the reason why anna never won any majors in tennis is that she (unlike what i think wie will do,,, win)is she spent to much time and effort selling calenders and herself,she let herself become a pin up girl just a another commodity and also her talent was soso,,wie has much more talant and better guidence i hope, & not to fall into the same trap as anna.
