Here is my rant for Saturday, as television coverage for the Skins Game is going to get underway on the East coast. All that schmoozing and joking on the first eight holes is cute the first time, redundant and falacious each subsequent instance. The Hottest Game In Town: Champs Tour Qualifying

It figures that the first year I don’t sweat out the qualifying scores of the Champs Tour, the craziest things happen. To begin, check out the list of world players trying to qualify for one of seven spots: Kuramoto and Ozaki from Japan, Romero and Carbonetti from Argentina, Cambridge from Jamaica, Rivero from Spain, Brand and Longmuir from Scotland, Nelford and Stewart from Canada. Thy Cup Underfloweth: Rejecting the World Cup

Reading one of the trades this weekend, I came across an interesting nugget of information. 31 players from a variety of countries rejected invitations to represent their countries in the World Cup. The major players in this mass exodus are:
*Mike Campbell and David Smail, New Zealand;
*Stephen Ames, Trinidad (I thought he was Canadian);
*Thongchai Jaidee, Thailand
*Nick Price, Zimbabwe
*Vijay Singh, Fiji
