Ryan Hietala showed his mettle on Friday by reversing the riptide that pulled him out to sea. The stretch of holes that punished him in eight strokes over par on Thursday, found him four under on Friday, on the way to a 66. Moving from t2 to t73 to t19 in the course of 36 hours is not recommended for the faint of heart.
