The Mother Of All Moving Days: Tour School Day Four

Six guys at -7 or better. A dozen more at -5. That’s what I call a moving day. If you shoot even par today, you might drop from first to fifth, like Michael Allen has so far, or from T2 to T13, as is the case with Danny Ellis. The volcanic Ryan Hietala, he of the 66-78-66 start, is -3 for the day, but can only muster a 1-position improvement. It seems like going low is the only option. Unless some weather blows in, the world’s best-in-waiting are poised to shred the Orange Country National’s twosome like some good cheddar.

Pity Brad Klapprott and Travis Perkins. By shooting 80 and 78, respectively, they tumbled a combined 122 spots on the most important day of their year. Klapprott began the day at -2; a 68 (somewhat average for today) would have placed him in the top 40, in site of a spot on the big tour. Perkins started Saturday at +2. -4 would have brought him close to the top 80, making a run at the Nationwide tour a reality. Cruel school, this week in Orlando.
