Ron, when you were talking about your teacher on the Champions Tour were you referring to Lonnie Nielsen ? He used to play in a little tournament we have in Ft. Myers, Fl each year sponsored by a beer company. I watched him play and thought he had plenty of game to succeed on the C. tour if he could get on.

I am indeed referring to Lonnie. He came to western New York in 1980-ish, planning to stay a few years. He and his wife fell in love with the region and its people, and cried when they sold their house last year, twenty-five years after arriving. His teaching style is as subtle and considerate as his demeanor. Nothing like a beer tourney to reveal the make of the man.

Luke Swilor missed by a shot, too bad.
But Goerge McNeill from Ft. Myers shot 18 under to win the Lakeland Fl stage 1 by 6 and that was after an opening 73. George has potential but played poorly on the Nationwide the one year he tried it. George beat Lonnie at the beer tourney one year.
