If you haven’t seen it, nor heard of it, it’s not much in the way of news. However, we can now add the loogie incident to the shoe incident and the finger incident in the Garcia pantheon. For those who have forgotten, Garcia flipped off the crowd at Bethpage in 2002 when they counted aloud the number of waggles he took before hitting shots. In 1999 (one that I had forgotten) he tossed a shoe at an advertising sign, then kicked it. Since he is a decent footballer (soccer player to my USA brethren) it should come as no surprise that his kick lofted the shoe within striking distance of an official. This kid-man has some bizarre meltdowns. If he still has the penchant for video games of a few years back, perhaps EA Games could design a Sergio game and incorporate the loogie, finger and shoe incidents, plus additional ones that are sure to come. Don’t forget the Ryder Cup Run, Dive and Roll that angered Davis Love Cubed a few years back.
