Around the golf weekend in 80 words

Sunday April 15, 2007 | 20:18:30 104 words, 2342 views
Win a free golf book!

I’ll try my best to be pithy…

Blog o’ the weekend…Beverly Ferguson on wind. It killed Davies and Ochoa in Florida, and delayed Heritage to Monday. Glad I learned to hit knockdown shots as a kid.

Early call for British Open underdog…Markus Brier from Austria…Good win at China Open on Euro tour.

Call for Hogan…the season of pretend instruction has begun…remember the Hawk’s advice…Dig it out of the ground. You’ll be amazed how long you preserve a lesson you taught yourself.

Courses I’m looking forward to playing this year on my Michigan swing…Arcadia Bluffs and Forest Dunes.

Nice Ron Mon.

Less of you is always more smiles for everyone else. Maybe next time you can pare it down to 15 words. Larry King would want his style back, but he doesn’t even realize he has a style.

How about making a southern swing and I'll give you a few lessons.

Free.

Which, I've heard, is the key to your cold, dark, golf-blogging heart.

Cheating. You went without the Heritage result :-)

Wow, comments from three colleagues. Guess I'm painting a needy face to the viewing public. Punter, there is no result to date...given the ending to the Ginn LPGA event, the Heritage might give us two explosions, and merit an independent blog entry. Southern Swing sounds nice, Mike. CB, Punter predicted I couldn't come up with 80 words, so I consider this entry a victory of sorts (without the Ochoa-esque and Davies-esque blow ups.)

Or you could come to AZ in the summer. The courses are not crowded and you'll get a free swing tip.
