Chip In For Carly's Club Update...Golf Fundraiser To Fight Cancer

31% down, 69% to go!Let’s see…how sorry can I feel for myself. girls’ golf team that I coach lost league title by one stroke; golf camp that I run is at 1/2 capacity three weeks before first day; tons of grading to do as school year finishes up; soreness in trapezius muscle going on five days now … nope, doesn’t really add up to much. However, a friend of my daughter just lost her dad to cancer…

Yes, I have a funny swing, funny hair, and a funny club and ball. However, there’s nothing remotely humorous about me suffering through 100 holes in a day, even if I do get to ride a cart. Weather in Buffalo should be in the high 80s or low 90s on June 18th…I’ll be a bowl of soup by hole 36, with 64 still to go…

It doesn’t matter where progress is made in the fight to cure cancer …Buffalo, Phoenix, Beijing, Brasilia, Sydney … all and more are working to end its run. No matter how much I suffer on June 18th, it won’t compare to the vomiting associated with chemotherapy, the scars that follow invasive surgeries, the shakes and tears that come with loss of a loved one.

I’m off my soapbox now… where’s the first tee?
