The wait is over for Tiger's baby ... girl

Well, the name wait is over for Tiger and Elin’s baby … girl. No longer will we be threatened by the names Eldrickia, Earla and Earlina, Tigress, Cuba (the feminine of cub… just kidding…Tiger’s not marxist), Kultida II, Thailandia, Elin II. With the name Sam Alexis Woods, the acronym SAW (unless she gets a confirmation name down the road), and two damned fine looking parents, this kid is doomed.

How in the name of all that is what it is, can this kid live anything approaching a normal life? Unless Elin home schools, fends off the camera-folk, beats down the writers, little SAW will grow up in a bubble world. Maybe the Swedish grandparents and the Thai grandmother will exert some influence, some buffer zone, and help the kid adjust, do some traveling, see the world, etc. One thing is probable: since Tiger didn’t do the K-State segregationist baseball thing nor the Vietnam thing, little SAW’s training will be a wee bit different.

Although the last week or so has been a time of intense pressure for the striped golfer, he seems to be handling the mix of real and fairy worlds well. In spite of published reports, Tiger can take a joke, even under the most heated circumstances:
No Soy El Padre
CABRERA SAYS: “DE VERDAD, TIGRE, NO SOY EL PADRE,” LOOSELY TRANSLATED AS, “YOU GOT ME, TIGER, I’M NOT THE FATHER.”

I'm so happy for Tiger and Elin.

I wonder if anyone else has considered that 12-18 hours labor is very typical for a first baby. The announcement says baby Sam was born in the early morning hours. It makes me wonder if the reason for that double-bogey was that he'd just been notified that Elin was in labor. That might just throw off his concentration a bit.

Congrats to the Woods family. I hope they can get some privacy.

I hope Sam did better in genetic distribution
than that thing Seal and Heidi Klum created.

Congratulations on the birth of your
daughter, I have no doubt your father
stopped his work in heaven to smile
upon the three of you.

Wishing you the best!
