LPGA, Get with the times and get a playoff pop-up for your website!

The same week that the LPGA unveiled a sporty new logo, two fine players went into a sudden-death playoff at the Longs Drug Classic in lovely California. It was the fourth playoff of the week on the major tours, following sudden-death decisions on the European Challenge, PGA, and Nationwide tours. As I followed breathlessly the tense moments of these extra-time affairs, I was able to see stroke-by-stroke playoff results from Europe and Texas. To date, I have been saddened by the fact that the LPGA has not created a functionality to display playoff information. For a tour that has had six playoff results in 2007, you might think that the powers that be would include a not-that-revolutionary functionality for the fans. Guess not.

Yeah but, how great is it to see two attractive women playing great in a sudden death playoff ? It used to be you could count on balls in the water and 3 putts in LPGA playoffs but these gals made 3 birdies and a par. For the first time in my life I'm excited about the LPGA.

1. How did you see results from Texas? Tourcast's popup playoff box wasn't working for me last night. It just said no data available. Discrimination or what?
2. I agree with all the comments about the LPGA but what saddens me is the poor coverage the print media for one still gives it.

Oliver ... God forbid if you had said, " ...two attractive men ..." unless you're a woman. See how complicated golf gets when you introduce ... sex!
