Ides of October in Pro Golf: A great week on PGA Tours

There are no ides of October; that was just a tease to draw in the Shakespearean crowd. If there were, they’d take place with greater proximity to the 15th of the month. As the PGA tours draw their legitimate seasons to a close, this week makes for great viewing. Here’s the smorgasboard:
In Vegas, the Frys.Com Open leads the US PGA Tour, while the Champs hombres head to Texas for the Administaff Small Biz Classic. The Nationwide dudes are also in the Lone Star state for the WNB Classic, while the Ladies of the PGA dock in California at the uncontroversial Samsung World Championship.
In my eyes, the better events take place overseas. The Japan Open is underway, with the infinitely-pronounceable Kaname Yokoo in the early lead. Those with a match-play jones left over from the Walker and Prez cups can tune in to the Hot Sauce Blue Cheese (HSBC) World Match Play from suburban London. Matches are also underway, with American cheesehead Jerry Kelly down early to Paul Casey.

Re HSBC - the BBC pulled coverage with 2 matches still underway - although I guess they might not have finished this evening as they started 2 hours late due to fog. At least Hunter Mahan through against Justin Rose 5 & 4 (getting even more match play practise in for the Ryder Cup?). Not the best golf I've ever seen - but as long as it's matchplay, I'll keep on watching.
