Nail-Biting Time In Orlando...PGA Tour Q-School Goes Down To The Wire

Monday December 3, 2007 | 13:26:50 110 words, 2317 views
Win a free golf book!

Frank Lickliter the Younger is on his way to a -30 or better week, averaging five-under per round. He’ll win Q-School and the pittance that comes with it, and regain his tour card. Your attention should be diverted to those grouped around -13 and -14, the sweaty multitude vying to win a card by finishing in the top 25. As of 1:24, Buffalo Standard Time, -14 is a tie for 23rd, and three dudes occupy that rung on the ladder. Eight compiches are one stroke back, including tour winners Carlos Franco, Duffy Waldorf, and Bob May (whoops, he lost in a playoff to Tiger…my bad.) Down to the wire? You bet your asterisk, Don Shula!

Don't look now, but Dustin Johnson and Tommy "Two-Gloves" Gainey are feeling it!!! Last few holes, both inside the cut line by a few strokes, three and four over respectively...are you kidding me?

Dustin Johnson might be a playa. 2 gloves would be over his head on the Nationwide. The two Asians, Jin Park and Yang, might be able to play. Also Chris Stroud who was on the PGA Tour last year might have it. So for '08 watch these players and Jason Day from the Nationwide. BTW, how can anyone be in Buffalo ?
