Masters Sunday: 3rd Hole is The Round Wrecker

It’s only 350 yards long, but it will ruin more early runs than any other hole. It’s so birdieable that you cannot fathom making par, so you bogey it. Bubba Watson started out birdie…birdie…you guessed it not long ago. Instead of going to -1 for the tournament after three holes, he’s back to +1. The hole is known as “Flowering Peach,” as in “That’s a flowering peach, hun!” I’m surmising that Bubba won’t be the only one to feel the sting of the 3rd hole today at Augusta.

In other news, three of the first five birdied number four, so look for one of the leaders to start off -3 after four holes. If it’s Tiger, whoo-hoo. If it’s Immelman, I might go back to my knitting.

3 claimed another victim: Poulter birdied 1 and 2 and bogeyed 3. It's a whispy little killer.
