Cool Stuff Saturday on Pro Tours...Anthony Kim, Paula Creamer and Vicky Hurst

It’s turning out to be a pretty cool weekend for young golfers on the professional tours.

1. Wachovia

Anthony Kim is currently 3 up on the field after three rounds. Heath Slocum, Boo Weekley’s better half, is tied for second with Jason Bohn. Ogilvy, Cink and Furyk are lurking if the kids get butterflies on Sunday.

2. SemGroup

Paula Creamer bogied 16 and 18 on Friday and Saturday, so here’s hoping that she has a five-stroke lead heading to the final three holes on Sunday. Not the way you want to finish, ever. Juli Inkster carries the torch for the 40-somethings. Vicky Hurst, the lass who medaled at Futures Tour Q-School last Fall and skipped college, received an invite to this one and is currently tied for 11th.

3. Spanish Open

Ignacio Garrido (hijo de Antonio) is currently 3 ahead of Miguel Angel Jimenez in what is shaping up to be a battle of bullfighters. Garrido pulled 16 birdies out of his cape on Thursday-Friday, but only 2 on Saturday. He’ll need more of the former to keep the gap on Jimenez. A third consecutive 67 from Senyor Spafro will be too much for Garrido to hold off.

4. GS Caltex Maekyung Open

I know that you’re all following this one, and you should be. Seung-yul Noh, all of 17 years old, has a two-shot lead heading into round four. This freak medaled at the 2007 US Junior Am, was the Korean Am champ at 14 or 15 years old, and the Korean Junior Am champ two years later. He might have the knuckles to see this one through; we’ll know in about 18 hours.

Make that 4 up for Kim. Didn't think he'd birdie 18, but he did!

Just responded to your Old Mac Q - sorry for the delay, but I've been nonstop golfing and traveling for two weeks, with the intermittent microbrew in the evenings:

I saw it from Pac Dunes but didn't really walk it, schedule was too jam packed...I hear nothing but incredible buzz about it. It's being seeded right now and hard to tell. It will be more inland with a few coastal holes, but could be the most difficult, according to people at the resort.
