RonMon addresses his readers!

In two recent blog entries, I was taken to task by readers (God I love them, as they justify my existence!) for my opinions on Ochoa v. Sorenstam and Meg Bolger, the misplaced mid-am on the Curtis Cup team. I plan to address both comments here and now, to validate THEIR existence. First, the battle of the Titans. Irma double-commented this one, demonstrating her staying power. The first and pithy one went like this:
The follow-up, less terse, drove home the nail with a powerful electric hammer:
Irma, our time is now! Ochoa and Sorenstam are in the throws of a major championship duel. At the midway point of the LPGA Championship, they are separated by one stroke, with the leader only one more stroke away. Are you jacked? I’m amped! ***********************************************************************
To Ran from Ron…Golf is a team game since when? Even in fake team setups like the Ryder, Walker, Solheim, Curtis and Presidents Cups, you can’t hit the shot or save the shot for the other player. Get me her scorecards and let me know what Bolger shot. I’m guessing she was woefully short of her opponents. She got closed out 5 and 4 on Sunday, for Lady Heathcoat-Amory’s sake. She lost 3 & 2 in fourballs both days, playing her own ball. They didn’t even trust her to play alternate shot (foursomes)! What does that tell you? The difference between the best women’s mid am and the twentieth best collegiate player is a golfing gulf. The only exception of recent times has been C.S. Thompson of Pennsylvania. Keep reading, keep writing…If I’m wrong, I’ll admit it. If not, I’ll prove YOU wrong! Comments:No Comments for this post yet... Leave a comment: |
