If you have yet to see it, you will now. Here it is:
.

Tom Toles has a great cartoon today on the Obama cover. It goes like this:

You’d think that one of the cover editors might have shaken the cobwebs from his mind and recalled this

and what it did to a fellow’s career. Always pushing the envelope, aren’t we?

Think I’ll head back to Apolitica, the imaginary land that I inhabit.

It's a good thing that you have resurrected The Noose. I think it serves to remind us of the declining quality of golf journalism.

That's what I think when I look in the mirror. Oh well, they can't say I didn't try.

Well, of course YOU are offended Monny - after all, YOU are one of the people who WANT this person to be our next President.

On the other hand - even if it was supposed to be 'ironic' - if it serves to pull ANY votes away from Sen. Barack Hussein Obama, I say THANK YOU New Yorker Magazine!!!

The only reason the New Yorker magazine is getting reamed is because there are too many pundits out there who need something to be pissed about to fill their own show/column. I don't see a problem with the cover at all. It's a political magazine. This herd mentality of trying to get people fired every time someone hiccups is getting ridiculous.

The New Yorker is a satirical magazine and they shouldn't have to dumb down their standards because some radio shock jocks don't approve.

Anyone who has seen the constant smears Obama deals with undestands the cover just fine.

Gee, BTuck - would those 'smears' include mentioning his FATHER and COUSIN who have been leading anti-government raids and violent protests causing massive disruption to a legally elected government?

Or do they include the 'taken out of context' statements he made in his own book about "siding with the Muslims when things get ugly"??

GAWD, one can only HOPE this weasel doesn't get elected.

BV,

Needlessly including Obama's middle name in your previous post, so as to subliminally infer he is a terrorist himself...

And McCain's endless fear mongering, saying in so many words that if Obama is president, you'll quickly lose all your money and then be killed by Arabs...

This election isn't about issues, I'm tired of being spoon fed fascist-like propaganda from my own "Democratic" government...

And that's why I don't have a problem with the New Yorker.

But 'substantive' and 'verifiable' things like his family connections and his own words in his book should NEVER be discussed....right? THAT is what *I* have a problem with Brandon - I don't see the 'Democratically-inclined' mainstream media addressing THOSE at all.

Clearly, one doesn't need to 'subliminally infer' that Sen Obama is a terrorist - he has too many documented ties to people who ARE terrorists to NEED to do that.

Anyone see the Obama v. Clinton Debate skit on SNL? Funniest damned thing I've ever seen.

BV,

You're correct. Brandon, you're right about the cover, but wrong about everything else.
