Stricker, Austin, OHair, Snedeker

My guess is that Paul Azinger, like Rich Rodriguez at Michigan, builds for the future by selecting OHair and Snedeker. Bypassing Mahan, Trahan, Mediate to get to these guys, the USA owes Snedeker one. Back when he was US Publinks champ, he was bypassed by the screwball, incestuous USGA for the Walker Cup team. What the flip was that? World Amateur team, maybe, but Walker Cup team? Please.

OHair just needs that opportunity to play for a team. I see him as a USA Sergio, not winning majors soon but something about him might translate to team play.

O'Hair ? No chance. He's missed the last 2 cuts. Snedeker could be. I think Mahan and Stricker are locks. We'll know tomorrow.

I'd bet on Stricker and Mahan too as they are playing pretty well now. The other two won't play very much anyway, so I'm hoping for youth. JB Holmes will probably get picked & either Sean O'Hair or DJ Trahan will be there too. He won't have the nerve to pick Scott Piercy. And I'm praying he doesn't consider Mediate. That US Open performance was a one-hit wonder. He's playing like old Rocco now.

Moild surprise in Campbell. Playing very solidly now and is the 10th American on FedEx points list. The other 9 are on the team, including Stricker.

Holmes isn't a horrible pick because he is from Kentucky. Guys play well in their backyard.

Holmes won't. He's a bum - take it to
the bank.

Sometimes we get some real silly comments areound here. A two time winner on the PGA tour, including this year's head-to-head win over Phil Mickelson, is a bum? Streaky, oh yes, but a bum, no. What JB Holmes is, is a birdie machine and a good match player. You may recall that he had Tiger 3 down until Tiger produced a magical finish of birdie, birdie, birdie, eagle, par to clip him 1up in the WGC Match Play earlier this year. He also had a 2-1 Walker Cup record in 2005.
