CRAZY Low Weekends Around The World of Golf

1. Peter Karmis wins on the South African PGA Tour with…3 eagles, 7 birdies for the first 59 in SAPGA Tour History. Second Place Jaco Van Zyl watches helplessly as his third round 66 gets him within four strokes of the champion golfer of the week.

2. Mina Harigae wins by 10 strokes on the Duramed Futures Tour, the AAA Tour of the LPGA. Harigae has 64-67-69 for -16, good for the double-digit victory over Whitney Myers. Harigae had previously won the 2007 USWAPL and played for the 2008 Curtis Cup team, so our guess is that its one-and-done for the Cali native on the Futures Tour.

3. Tiger Woods closed with birds on 71 and 72 to win The Memorial over Jim Furyk. At least four guys looked like they might win this one, but DL3 crashed first with a bogey-triple finish, the wind left Jim Furyk’s sails on 15 as he missed a tiny birdie putt, and Jonathan Byrd fell last with another wee yip on 17. Tiger’s driving performance this week demonstrates that Bethpage was on his mind (as if we didn’t suspect.)

4. Bernhard Langer smoked ten Americans (finishers 2-11) by six strokes minimum with 65-69-67 in Maryland. Germany, represuhnt!
