Ambidextrous Golfer To Compete In Masters
Brad Benjamin, winner of the 2009 USGA Public Links championship, will compete from both sides in the 2010 Masters Championship. Benjamin applied for, and received, a waiver from both the Masters Competition Committee and the USGA to utilize twin, 14-club sets at the first of the year’s Major male championships, set to begin ten days from April 1st.
Benjamin explained that winning the PubLinks from the port side gave him the courage to attempt golf from starboard. Having taken lessons from famed Nepalese teaching professional Hayden Finch, Benjamin progressed so quickly that he began to give mirror-image golf a consideration. Noting that Phil Mickelson utilized two drivers with some success in previous Masters, Benjamin decided to make the unheralded and unheard-of request to the governing bodies. He was delighted when both acquiesced.

I'm amazed when anyone can make a decent swing from both sides of the ball, and blown away when they can actually excel on both sides of the ball. There was a player, Julie Flynn, on the FUTURES Tour in the mid-1990s who had competed professionally as both a lefty and a righty, but not at the same time.
