Na-Yeon Choi defeats Kim Three
Is that a headline or what? Honestly, you cannot make these things up. Na-Yeon Choi, the leader through three rounds, made birdie from two feet on playoff hole number two to defeat three Kims…Christina, In-Kyung and Song-Hee, for the Jamie Farr Classic on the LPGA Tour. Where was Birdie Kim, you ask? Not at this event. Mindy Kim finished a slim 11 strokes out of the playoff…I was hoping for a Sunday charge from her!
To have all these Kims playing so well, heading into US Open week, is a good sign for the LPGA and the USGA. The Korean Kontingent, much as Tiger Woods did a decade ago, force everyone else to up their effort and attention. My guess is that we’ll have an Open for the ages…you read it here first.
