Does Peter Uihlein Remember How To Win?

The former US Amateur champion, who won in 2010 at Chambers Bay, finds only four strokes between himself and Raymond Russell, the leader of the Challenge Provincia di Varese, on the European Challenge Tour. Uihlein, represented by Chubby Chandler, is playing a spate of events in Europe, flying under that radar they talk about, to cut his professional teeth.

Uihlein won the 2011 Northeast Amateur, his final non-professional triumph. Being a year away from that victory, he will need to summon old feelings and abilities to handle the pressure of a 4-stroke deficit and a potential maiden victory as a professional. As some might say, the sooner you get it done, the fewer the questions you need to answer. Here’s hoping that young Uihlein gives it a run.
