It is possible. Like I said I think she would have made the team but the spot would not have been guaranteed. You are failing to mention the other upper class all Americans and in a tournament only 3 scores would have counted. She would have to be top 3-4 in the Duke team to play each tournament.

Jon,

I respect the first comment about Bri Lang. The second one, however, I cannot ignore. Are you telling me that the US Women's amateur champion was ducking the likes of Freshwomen Amanda Blumenherst and Jennie Lee, and sophomore Jennifer Pandolfi? I'm not doubting their worth to the team, but I have a hunch that coach Dan Brooks would have made room on his team for Miss P. I think that the reason Lang is neglected in the media is, she didn't win the US Women's Am, and she was more of a come-from-behind story at the Open. Pressel was easy to focus on, as she succeeded (staying in the hunt) where, on that occasion, Wie failed.

It is quite possible that Pressel decided to skip Duke because of the stiff competition she would have faced from the Duke Team. Pressel would have to fight for her spot on the team full of All Americans. She may have won the spot but it would not have been guaranteed. I think that may have been the reason why she reneged on her promise to go to Duke. Lang is the one who followed the Tiger route. Having been a celebrated junior golf player, she joined the number one college team, and she won all American honors in her first two years. She , then, placed second in the US Open and qualified for both the Futures and the LPGA tours. Lang obviously has more experience and accomplishments. Lang is neglected in the media since she doesn't mouth off or make a big media hype about signing with an agent.

Michelle Wie's schedule.

If the Wie's want to play in both Hawaii events next month, I would advise them to do so. Their chances of getting additional LPGA events improve if they don't hoard the ones they have. Possibilities. The LPGA could decide she qualifies on merit for the Kraft and the LPGA and so they don't count against her 6. Samsung could be the same, particularly if she has already used up her 6. The Evian could be considered an LET event. Or she might get a mid-season promotion to non-exempt LPGA status without any restrictions on other events she might want to play.

Lang and Pressel. This is like Creamer and Wie. If they perform at a comparable level, you have to be more impressed by the one who is about 3 years younger.

Ron Mon, I think that Chad Campbell's duel yesterday with David Toms might be one for the books, albeit a minor one. I'm referring to Chad being tied for the lead after 36 holes, going out and shooting a course record tying 62, and after 54 holes still being tied for the lead. If that has ever happened before in a PGA tour event, it has escaped my notice. Maybe some research-into-trivia expert can hep out.

Exactly my intention. I was hoping someone would "clarify", to use the current LPGA verb, who Brittany Lang is/was. She got lost in the shuffle, but will quietly have a solid first season on the LPGA tour.
