Ernie is sure used to that view, just behind Tiger, he's been there his whole career. I'm just kidding, Ernie is a great golfer. I look for big things from him this year, after last years injury and sub-par performance prior(at least on the PGA tour). Anybody who predicted that Retief is finished in the majors or in any tournament for that matter is nuts. I'm not saying that he will win this week or at the upcoming Master's, but he is a factor in every tournament he enters.

One thing I have learned from Baldwin is to take chances, to write the verbal equivalent of a 6-iron from a bunker over water to the 72nd green to win the Canadian Open. Anyone who writes off a major championship winner is foolish. The only one that went permanent belly-up that I know of is Ian Baker-Finch.

Ron,
Ernie Els had an eagle on the last hole of Round 2, to get just 1 shot behind Tiger.

Ernie has been very steady with just one bogey in the two days of play.
His putting improved also in the second round.

Retief is also showing his class, given that he hasn't played much lately. Baldwin predicted that Goosen was finished in majors. Reteif could well be a big factor in all 4 majors this year. So Baldwin will probably be wrong once again, but eh, there isn't anything new there.
