LPGA Stars Watching Annika Sorenstam for Chinks in the Armor

Annika Sorenstam gave hope to the rest of the LPGA by not doing her usual Sunday Terminator performance two weeks ago in Georgia. Don’t you think that all of the LPGA Tour isn’t watching her every tournament for some signs of slipping. The much-heralded young guns like Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie had to be nearly giddy over Sorenstam’s horrible 75 that Sunday. The amazing thing is that she played very well over the first 3 days to be in the final pairing. This is typically when she – much like Tiger Woods – hits the gas and leaves her competitors sucking up the fumes.

Then last week in Florida she suffered third round doldrums and a final round 67 just made her tournament look solid. But she was really out of it on Sunday. I only make these comments in reference to her standards, not the rest of the mere mortals. It’s likely that everyone in the LPGA is thinking “If Annika just slips a little, I now have a chance.” They will take heart if these recent performances are the start of a trend.

Annika is slipping because of the pressure she is under from Paula Creamer who is the real number 2.

Annika is probably worried about the Matchplay Championships, because Paula Creamer showed that she can whip Annika or anyone's butt during her Solheim matchplay.

some shots of Annika and LPGA challengers i got three weeks ago in Stockbridge, very impressive to se her at practice ground and putting green, working like a swing machine, not an artist for sure, a great athlet, but who is her ? What does she feels really ? Impossible to say, she never put down the mask, even when she put down the sunglasses.
signs of slipping ?
hum...

That must be it Ronnie. After all Paula was breathing down her neck in 66th place at the Ginn.

There are many people Annika should worry about this year, but the Paula of late is not one of them. How about Lorena, Karrie, or maybe the Korean a Week Club Ronnie?

Shanks, at the time of your writing, your blog was generous if anything.

For three weeks, Annika did not have chinks in her armor, entire plates were missing. However it appears that she used the extra two days off to find a good blacksmith. She's back in second at the Sybase at the moment, halfway through the third round.

And by the way...hello world, meet Allison Hanna, yet another new face at the top of the leaderboard.

Another Sorenstam fold on Sunday .... hello .... anybody else noticing this? Not just the missed cut on a course where she's never played really well. What would everyone be saying if Tiger played poorly from the lead on Sunday, twice in a row?

Yes, playing poorly on the final day two tournaments in a row indicates a mental struggle. I wonder what is going on between her ears?
