Going to Myrtle Beach to play golf? Use TravelGolf.com as a resource

On a recent golf trip to Myrtle Beach I was a single paired with two great guys, Jerry and Lee from Michigan. During our round at the terrific Tidewater Golf Club in the Cherry Grove area, we had a somewhat surprising discussion. The place they were staying boasted of having a golf coordinator, so these two – who knew very little of Myrtle Beach golf scene – figured they would just rely on this person/service for their golf when they arrived. Reasonable assumption.

The fly in the ointment was that the person in charge of this “service” didn’t even play golf and knew absolutely nothing about the nearly 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand. Oh sure, she had phone numbers to call and secure their tee times for a multi-course package but that was about it. It was blind luck that they picked a group of courses that included Tidewater, which is one of my very favorites.
