PGA Tour interest waning? Where's Michelle Wie?

Sorry to disappoint you,but this blog is NOT about Michelle Wie. Hey, I’ll wait til she misses the cut at Sony and then I’ll speak up.

Meanwhile, anyone notice the TV deal with the PGA Tour? There are little signs the game isn’t as healthy as Tim Finchem tries to lead us to believe. Yes, they signed six-year deals with NBC, CBS and the Golf Channel, but ABC and ESPN walked away from the talks. Not interested.

Also, Ford did not renew its sponsorship at Doral and prize money, which has reached ridiculous levels, has reached as high as it is going to, at least for the immediate future. Face it, the numbers are flat.

Finchem better hope his schedule shakeup, and the season-ending playoffs, will stir interest.

Given that this topic is not about Michelle Wie, how many more comments, do you think you will get?

Tim, don't worry about Norman, he's just pissed because he doesn't have another blog to clog up with his pro-Wie rantings. How dare you write about the state of the PGA tour or all of golf for that matter without including her, don't you know that the golfing universe revolves around a 16 year-old girl whose biggest accomplishment to date is winning the Don Ho Tiny Bubbles junior Miss Hawaii Tournament when she was 3.

Stone,
Tim put Wie in the title so that people would read the blog.

That's why I read it, and although you may be shy to admit it, that is also why you read it.

Keep up the good work Tim.
Enjoy writing your blog Sunday about how bad 52nd position is.

You got me Norman. 52nd would be pretty good. If I were you I would start coming up with excuses now for why Michelle missed yet another cut.

If you put Norman and Stone together, you get ... Norman Stone. The tour is as healthy as Tiger, and he's in pretty good shape. Even the Dow and the NASDAQ and all those other high-finance things that I don't comprehend flat-line a bit. Rumor has it that a Samoan sumo wrestler with hands like butter, a Kiwi nomad with biceps of steel, and an icelandic ice-fisherman with the balance of a leopard will reach the tour in 2009, just in time for Finchem to renegotiate the TV contract with the newest network, the TravelGolfer.Com channel. Can you imagine us boneheads on the tube?

Wow Tim-- you sure have done a 180 on your opinion of Michelle Wie.

I guess the saying is true--if you don't stand for something , you'll fall for anything.
