Legacy Golf Links in Pinehurst -- they're building so you must come now

I have a theory about golfers. I’m talking about your everyday, average hacker. They may talk a good game about loving to play the great, difficult courses, but I believe what they’re really looking for is an easy course in great surroundings.

I found a great one here in Pinehurst, the Legacy Golf Links. It’s got it all – the looks, the feel, everything. Most easy courses are flat and featureless. Legacy has a lot of character – good elevation change, moving fairways, a good variety of holes, risk/reward, water carries, etc. It’s in great shape and in a beautiful, natural setting in the Sandhills – no homes – just outside Aberdeen. Plus, it’s fairly cheap.

The bad news is they’re starting to build, so if you want to play it in its current pristine shape, you should probably do it soon.

Look for the full review coming soon.

Tim,
Played Legacy a couple of times in the late 1990's as part of the Carolina PGA Senior Series. Just loved it. Fun to play and tests your game. Too bad they're going to destroy it with damned houses.

Let me know when the houses are ready, nothing like slicing drives into someone's pool then getting bitched at like I'm trespassing. Why you'd buy a house in the right side of a par 5 is beyond me...

A course appears easy when you're hitting it well. I've played Legacy while hitting it both ways - good and crooked. It's anything but easy when the ball is misbehaving a little.
