Miami International Airport and American Airlines: Stuck in Hell

People say the Atlanta airport is the worst, but for my money, you can’t do worse than Miami International Airport, especially the American Airlines terminal.

God forbid you should have to fly to somewhere in the Caribbean, you’ll probably end up in the American terminal.

It looks like an over-crowded third-world country in there, overrun with weary travelers, usually sitting around taking up space because their flights were delayed. On a recent trip to the Mexican Caribbean, my flights were delayed on both ends, and I was far from alone.

Don’t you love it when they cram you on the shuttle bus, some huge cowboy breathing in your face, then make you wait for 10 minutes on the tarmac while they “service” the plane?

What happened to the days of free meals? They were awful, but at least they were free and kept you from collapsing with hunger. Now, they make you pay $3 for indigestible junk food. If I want indigestible junk food, I’ll eat in the terminal or Denny’s.

People say if you want to go to heaven, you have to pass through Atlanta. If you want to go to Hell, book a flight with American through Miami. You’ll already be there.
