Want to own a golf team in the National Golf League? Got $75,000?

Win a free golf book!

You, too, can join the league of arrogant sports franchise owners. All you have to do is pony up $75,000.

Yes, it’s the National Golf League, now in its third season. Wow, did time fly! I never heard anything about the first two.

Anyway, NGL officials say they have sold 18 teams around the country, and now they’re moving into Florida.

The league’s selling point is that their product can be as fan-rowdy as fans want to make it. Fans are free to roam fairways, yell “Get in the hole” as often as they like, talk to the players, talk on cell phones and take photos. Sounds like Ultimate Fighting to me.

Hurry! There’s only six teams left for the 2007 season, officials say. Must be a short season. I guess they’re waiting for the weather to cool off.

If you’re loco enough to be interested, check out nationalgolfleague.com on the Web or call 530-756-8916. Not it isn’t a toll-free call. Just tell them to take it off the $75,000.

Hey, that may not be a bad deal. You can get a city to pass a tax to build a golf course, so your team has a place to practice and play. Then in a couple years sell it for MILLIONS!!!!
