Cross Jim Furyk off your list to contend at PGA Championship at Southern Hills
Jim Furyk, who says Southern Hills fits his game perfectly, will indeed play in the 89th PGA Championship, here at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. But, if you can believe him, don’t look for him to be a major contender.
Furyk has been battling back problems, but says after he received some physical therapy this week, will be able to play, though he won’t be at 100 percent.
“I was one happy person last night when I went to be because I felt so much better and woke up this morning (Wednesday) less stiff,” Furyk said Wednesday.
“I’m still not 100 percent, but I’m healthy enough to make the swings that I want to. I have the ability. But, I’ve had about a week off and I’m swinging at it terrible right now.”
Furyk says he gets tired on the practice range, and managed only nine practice holes Monday, nine Tuesday and nine Wednesday. He also worked in some range time.
“The golf course, really, would suit my game,” he said. “And when I was playing well, I pride myself on being able to maneuver the golf ball. Power is not going to come into play. It’s really limiting off the tee in spots, the way it’s set up. So guys are going to play from the same spot in the fairway on a lot of holes.”
The problem, Furyk says, is a joint in his upper back that has been stiff.

Note the word "Wednesday." Do you not understand the days of the week?
This is why I've been lobbying for a "minimum stupid quotient" to be eligible to post comments. I don't think you'd pass.
