Twenty PGA Tour players are helping to re-build the Katrina-ravaged Mississippi Gulf Coast again. Jerry Kelly was the impetus last year, when he and tour official Mickey Bradley, from Biloxi, It was supposed to be a one-time deal, but they’ve decided to keep it going until they’ve built 15 homes. This year’s event is scheduled the day after the last PGA Tour event in Florida, November 5th at Shell Landing. “I played the PGA Tour’s Ben Hogan Tour (Nationwide Tour) events on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I wanted to help,” Kelly said in a press release. “I know of no other charity event where my friends and I can make a bigger impact than by building three homes each year to help the recovery.” Sponsorships start at $250 and there are Pro-Am spots available where participants play with a PGA Tour Player, for an entry fee of $1,275 per person. Call 228-374-GOLF or go to habitatproam.com for info. Or sign up online at gulfcoastgolf.org/proam. There public is welcome and there will also be a silent auction of PGA Tour Players gear.
