John Daly on a bender? Doesn't show up for Arnold Palmer's pro-am

More woes for John Daly. First, Butch Harmon dumps him, and now he gets disqualified from the Arnold Palmer Invitational because he didn’t show up for Wednesday’s pro-am.

Under PGA Tour rules, he’s automatically out.

What makes it worse is that Daly had been given a sponsors exemption for the tournament.

Daly is a two-time major winner, but currently without a tour card.

No word from Palmer yet, but you can bet he’s disappointed Daly, still a fan favorite, skipped the show.

I’ve been a fan of Daly’s for a while, but this shows a lack of class. You can drink like a fish and still have class. Like me.

It seems that there might be more to the story, especially with the subsequent elimination of two characters sucked under the wake of Daly's egress.

JD lost his two main sponsors not long ago. To treat his remaining sponsor who got him the exemption in such a matter is not only rude but completely unprofessional. I used to like the guy because he's so different, he brings something very unique to any tournament he plays. But now, unless he gets his act together, he may lose the little credit he has still left. Quite sad actually...

JD needs more than a 15 day spin dry. The PGA, his family or somebody should intervene and get this guy into long term rehab

I agree with Ross. He may be beyond the point of caring at this point. Looks like he could use a bit of help. Arnold Palmer perhaps?
