Top-10 picks to challenge Tiger Woods

There is absolutely no one at the moment who has either the game or the guts to stand up to Tiger Woods. If Woods happens to lose a tournament, it’s only because he had an off-week, and that won’t last long.

I really think only Ernie Els has what it takes to challenge Woods in the next year or two.

That being said, here are my top-10 picks as those most likely to challenge El Tigre’s unchallenged supremacy:

1-Ernie Els: If he ever gets back to form, he can do it.
2-Jim Furyk: Probably too light of a hitter.
3-Vijay Singh: He’s done it before, he could do it again.
4-Hunter Mahan: Very talented.
5-Steve Stricker: Another talented young gun.
6-Phil Mickelson: The most talent, but the most intimidated by Woods.
7-Adam Scott – A little too laid-back.
8-Paddy Harrington: I like the little Irishman’s fire.
9-Woody Austin: I like the way the Wood Man stands up to Woods.
10-Sergio Garcia: I’ve said it before, if Sergio could putt he’d be in the top three.

Give it up Old Mac. Swallow your pride and jump on Wolfrum's Tiger Undefeated in 08 bandwagon.

First, you predicted Woods would be beat in the Match Play. Then, you came out with the call that he wouldn't go undefeated in 08 (only you could still lose making such a lamely safe bet). And now you're saying he has to "happen" to lose for it to occur.

And your list?

Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk as the two and three most likely? Singh is done with no chance of winning any tournament with a good field ever again. Furyk hasn't done anything of real significance for almost two years.

Do you think you're back in 1998 or something? Those two aren't among the Top 20 names most likely to challenge Tiger.

Maybe you should put Greg Norman and Nick Faldo on the list too.

Mmmm. So much for CB's expert opinion then.
