Michelle Wie is the biggest pop celebrity of our times, outside Barack Obama

It’s true. Michelle Wie is close to being a household name and has never won anything involving golf outside of her home state of Hawaii.

Hey, if the Republicans can say the same thing about Barack Obama, I can say it about Michelle Wie.

She’s now 0-for-8 in trying to make the cut at a PGA Tour event after flaming out at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. Wie fired an 80 in the second round on Saturday, including a quadruple bogey on No. 17.

Never has one person garnered so much publicity while doing so little.

True, in her first try, she missed a men’s cut by only one, but in her next six – she had to withdraw once, remember – she has missed by a combined 50 strokes. That’s an average of more than eight strokes.

But, wait. She isn’t through yet. This humiliating streak has done nothing to tamp down that infamous ego.

“If the opportunity comes again…I’d think about it,” she told the media.

The Sporting News says Wie is on schedule to make the cut in a men’s event by 2072.

Maybe she’ll develop a little humility by then.

ah... much better... now... as for MW goes.. If making a cut with the men is so important, she should lower her sights again and play the asian tour. After, she did make the cut on that one already, so she could probably do it again.

Michelle's physical game is a + 9 and her mental game is a - 2. Until she figures that out, she will not be a winner on any tour. In the past it has been proven that she can not handle pressure, even when she was playing junior golf. There were many occasions where her competitors came from behind and beat her.

Should she place high enough in the Canadian Open to receive her LPGA card for 2009, do you think she will accept it?

At least Wie isn't dumb enough to want a windfall profit tax.

She was said to have a personal account on 'MillMatch' club with her hot pictures and blogs there. The site is getting hotter and hotter, cuz quite a few millionaires and celebrities tend to go there.
