In response to: 2008 PGA Show: The bad

As far as the Pocket BC goes... a towel is easier to carry around on the greens than a small 3" x 1.5" piece of wet vinyl? And what else do you have in YOUR pockets? Are you trying to keep the clear so you can reach something else?

In response to: Who's No. 1? Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods

Tiger is the best by a landslide. Don't believe me?? Ask Jack. He said so himself....Note to Scott Tucker...Tyson lost his belt in 1990 to a nobody and went to jail for most of the early 90's. Check your time-line.

In response to: Who's No. 1? Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods

For the early part of his career Jack had to win to support his family. Tiger was a multi-millionaire before he teed up his first ball. I think Jack had much more pressure on him.

In response to: It's the "BRITISH Open," not "The Open"

Tim, as an American and avid enthusiast
of gold, the Open Championship is the
accurate form of address of this historic
championship. Accordingly, to European
periodicals that refer to the major golf
event contested annually in Augusta, GA, it
is The Masters tournament, not the "American
Masters" tournament. I've read that in
print on the continent.

In response to: Tiger Woods: Let's have a little more honesty

Hello Tim:

Regarding the Punta Banda project sponsored by Tiger Woods, You may want to check this blog:
http://futurocostaensenada.wordpress.com/

If you scroll down the page, you´ll find an English version of the text. The citizens of Ensenada have accomplished a lot by questioning the nature of the project.
Bye!!
Moika.

In response to: Tiger Woods the architect isn't exactly doing his part, yet, to help make golf affordable for the masses

I don't see anyone criticizng Sergio Garcia for the courses he is already building even though he is no legend. I think Tiger will do the right thing eventually. In the meantime, the work of his Foundation is much more important than building golf courses. What the learning centre is giving kids will last them a lifetime.

In response to: Tiger Woods: "I'll be ready for the Masters"

It is ridiculous to say that
Tiger cannot win four more majors,
when he won one with a broken leg
I guarantee you Jack's record
will be gone earliest 2010 latest
2012.

Winning is about mental and no
one can match a written off Tiger
Please dont forget Torrey Pines

What has happened is that rather
that 24-27 majors, he will be in
the 19-24 major range

Wow. This comment actually makes good sense. It's cogent, apparently well thought-out and I'll even say it's well-written.

Someone has taken over Ron Mon's brain.
In response to: Sour economy means cutback on new golf courses

Fortunately a number of the old clubs are revisiting their original plans and making a return to the initial layout. Many of the top and mid-level golf architects have a bustling business in refurbishing, master plans, and revitilazation. It's nice to see trees being cut down and grass growing in places where over-zealous greens committeemen put up arbor in the hopes of "improving" the course. From Oakmont to Highland Links, timber is tumbling and vistas are opening up again.

In response to: Mangrove Bay an excellent muni in St. Petersburg, Florida

Since it's about 12 blocks from my house, I play here a lot, as well as the 9-hole couse up front. Both are very well maintained for a public course, and are inexpensive enough to play 36 in one day w/o getting a Fannie Mae loan. Thanks for the review.

Timmie Mac.....just go, OK? As a CURRENT resident of St Pete (and one that's UNDER 50...) we have lots of excellent nightlife - blues clubs, waterfront bars, and OH...a baseball team playing in the World Series! ;)
